Fitted a pair of Piper BP270 cams to my otherwise standard engined S1 yesterday.
Having had some time to evaluate the changes I'm a happy chappy :-)
Power under 3000rpm is basically the same, power from 3000-5000 is noticably increased, power above 5000 to 7000 is very much increased.
The engine now produces usable power up to about 90mph in third, which is the reason I went for this upgrade . . .
So, about 400 quid for about 20 to 25 bhp increase . . . good value IMHO.

If I start down the slippery slope of modding then this is definately the route I'm going to take. Do you have a sports exhaust/filter aswell to help things along a little? If you don't mind me asking where did you get the work done?? Sounds good value.

Hey, it's a slippery slope, but you only live once . . . why not enjoy it . . . ?
I did the work myself, so life is cheaper than normal . . . and I know it was done properly . . .
I'm not 'into' air filters, I still have (ad plan to keep) the standard filter, good enough . . . I have a standard manifold/downpipe but a stainless silencer . . . however IMHO it'll make *ugger all difference . . .
