Help! My drivers side front indicator on my S2 111S has fallen off for the second time in as many weeks. the dealer replaced it without fuss, but it's a bit annoying cos it's a 2 hour drive to get there and back.

The problem is a little plastic (!) clip which holds the unit into the front clam - it just breaks

It's just a 2000 mile car, so it'll be fixed for free again, but does anybody have any ideas to stop it happening? Chris Neil say it is a common problem and showed me another unit that was being replaced last time I was there.

Thanks - I'll check out the site.

I got the car back about two weeks ago (a week after the 2 week 'maximum') - can't fault the body repairs, just a few little issues with indicators flying off, wiper control stalk broken & trip counter not working which have / are being fixed.

The indicator thing has happened to me twice now, and has resulted in the front clamshell being resprayed under warranty... Both times it was the driver side indicator, and both times were at fairly high speed (80mph+) with a sudden cross-wind genarated by oncoming high sided vehicles.

My local lotus dealer says this is a known problem and the "service bulletin" says the "fix" (and I use the word fix in its loosest possible way) is to tie some knots in the electric cable so when it pops out again it doesn't damage the paintwork.

Not really satisfactory as far as I'm concerned - I'm just waiting for the next time it happens and get the front of my car resprayed again! Well at least I don't have to worry about stone chips accumulating!
