Having been using the Elise for a few days, I'm missing the "Noble effect" when pressing the "quite" pedal.

Options for upgrades please - ranked into "minor, normal, major and stupid" if you can!

Car is 4.5 years old, and done just over 20,000 miles.

Thanks,

J

Cam/Head/ECU changes, probably give you a reliable 160-180, bottom end changes above that (crank/rods/forged pistons) probably to 200+ . . . all this will end up in is more power higher up the rev range and a higher limit . . .

Forced induction, Turbo Technics Supercharger for example, again 200+ however prolly more power at lower revs . . .

Remember though the K in the elise started it's life as a 1.4 (from a design POV) engine, you're reaching serious longevity problems at 200+, however you seem to do low miles so perhaps that's ok . . .

Depends what you use it for . . .

Can't you get a kit to make dump valve noises whenever you lift off the gas?

Take it on a track, you'll be able to driver it harder without worrying about it being a 50k car with really slow supply of parts if you bend it

More of the above

Minor - exhaust/induction/cat - should give 135bhp ish for about £500 ...must be done for Elise to sound right - revs a bit free-er..not really that noticable performance increase - Nippy and reliable as standard

Normal - cams, headwork, - should give 160bhp for about another £1500 - definately noticable performance increase - fairly quick and reliable as standard

Major - even hotter cams, full big valve head, DTH Throttle bodies, ECU, forged pistons, liners - 200bhp for around another £2500 - highly noticable - very quick, may need a rebuild every 30K miles

Stupid 1 - Turbo Technics TT230 supercharged 1.8K series, remapped to 250bhp, very fcukin quick (like Noble) for £10K, get used to travelling to Northampton

Stupid 2 - Brooke Kensington Honda R conversion - 220bhp ish for £14K, complete engine swap, very fcukin quick too...but you could buy another Elise for the price - should be reliable

Sensible Stupid - Possible Audi/VW group 225bhp turbo conversion from DVA Power (still at PoC stage) around £6K - should be very fcukin quick, reliable and sound like Noble too (although one turbo only!)

think that about covers your options
