My lovely (alloy brake disked) Elise lives with me in Germany, and is used everyday - Mad dogs and Englishmen and all that.
Here they (just to disprove the 'German sense of humour' jibe) have roads that at the first sign of rain flood, and hide deep lakes of standing water. Nice, and excellent for twitchy/aquaplany (ahem..)excitement.
Then the brakes don't work.
I understand the alloy disks get wet and have a delay on application, but honestly, is'nt this just a bit crap/dangerous/life threatening?
They are fine in the dry, as many trips to the 'Ring (30 mins away) attest.
Remember, here the locals drive big silver cars with 'Emergency Brake Assist', ABS, 20 airbags, and stop at the LASTPOSSIBLEMOMENT!!!! ("Blimey, that was close..." He said again for the 10th time that journey.)

Is it worth retro-fitting steel disks/new pads? If so which ones?
Can the pads be improved? the alloy disks cross drilled, better disk shields be fitted - anything!

My life is in your hands - advice please!
