A straight forward question are the re any discounts or good deals available on new elises in the north of England. The Scottish dealer won't budge on price of nearly new or new elises wants me to pay full list price. Are there any dealers willing to offer discount or good deals that any one knows of??

thanks

I remember reading a previous post about some local dealer offering £1000 discount on a new Elise, does anyone remember this?

very, very doubtful. You can get a good haggled finance deal, and possibly the odd extra chucked in, but thats about it. The cars are just too popular for them to need to give discounts (the arrogance really irritates me but there you go)

Hah, 6 months ago it was definitely a different story.

Summer ain't the time to buy a sports car. Anyway over winter they've had the following offers :

a) free sport 135 upgrade.
alternatively
b) free hardtop.
aleternatively
c) free aircon.

Also people haggled in sports exhausts etc.

I'd ring round.

I got my Elise from Wilsons Lotus June 2002 new, got 7% off list and sports exhaust at cost, so anything is possible ...not financed through them though (leasing company) so effectively a cash sale for them...also leasing company's preferred Lotus supplier offered 7% so Wilsons matched it.

just go into your local dealer, and ask - if they dont want to deal then walk away, drive somewhere else and try

Ive never paid list (or asking price) for a car from a dealer

I bought a new Elise this weekend. I'd been shopping for several weeks. The dealer was adamant that the car was too popular to give discounts. Fortunately, I was trading in a pretty new car and wanted a sports exhaust, so we negotiated on those bits. Seemed easier than banging my head on a brick wall about the price of the Elise. I'm happy where I ended up, but no doubt could have done better in the winter. Anyway, can't wait to get the car!!!

Yep easier to negotiate extras rather than discounts. Elises really are seasonal on the pricing though, people were getting depressed and selling on for silly money over winter.

Try Formula 1 of Newcastle, when I went to ask them about getting a 2nd hand one they were really helpful.
