Has anybody managed to find somewhere to put a cd changer???

Took it out of my old car before I sold it and would love to put in my elise (would save me from carrying loads of cds)

My elise is a mark 2 if that makes a difference

Not an expert at all and know there are plenty of people out there with this set up so can offer a couple of suggestions...

In the space behind the passenger and driver seats (accessible and out of sight)
In the boot bolted to the floor far right or left

Apart from your passengers lap there aint many other options as far as I can see (I have S2 also)

I installed a changer in my Mk.1 and aside from some minor blood loss when feeding cable through the dashboard it was fairly quick and simple. Just run the changer cable through the back of the dash, secure it tidily to the trannie tunnel and attach it to the changer unit you cunningly screwed in behind the passenger seat (the easiest place to fit it and to change magazines). As long as the changer is black, it's pretty hard for a passer-by or thieving scumbag to see it. If I'm in a dodgy area I tend to place a mag or something on top of it just in case.
Changers can be fitted in the boot but it's a fiddlier installation and I personally prefer to make the most of those cubic inches!

A word of warning: Be very careful if you're drilling any panels behind the seats.

That's where the petrol tank is, and you really don't want to be drilling into that.

I'm going for a single disk mp3 player - you can get 10 hours of music on there and you don't have to worry about the changer.

best place behind seats as said carefull with hole I used velco (why not the rest of the car is held together withit and its more difficult to remove than screws) cable runs easily through tunnel. unit is not visible especially with net fitted.

Halfords are currently advertising a 6 disc Sony changer for 149.99 including fitting.
