I've been given permission by the wife to swap my Alfa Romeo 156 for an Elise on condition that i have the 'snip'. What are the key does and don'ts when buying a fairly early Elise. What are the best places to get them insured.

My first bit of advice would be to allow yourself a long time to recover from the 'snip' before attempting to get into or out of an Elise!

On the buying and insuring front, there have been plenty of threads on this in the last couple of weeks, take a look at previous posts. I use Adrian Flux for insurance.

Too right!

On the buying front, DO get it inspected by an expert (not the AA or RAC), DO look at a few before you get one, DO make sure you've really finished with them - a 156 is quite a nice motor!

Insurance - I'm with Footman James but Tesco, Direct Line and Privelege seem to be popular.

The Elise should come with a free snip - have you seen how many 'Baby Forces Sale' ads are out there?
