S1 elise (standard) or 111s ?

im looking to get myself a Elise b4 next spring.it will be my 1st Lotus,whats the main differance with the standard elise and the 111s(engine/gearbox),is the service costs much more for the 111s.Also is it allways best to buy from a dealer or buy private,just the 1st time buyer questions,any other info would be welcome,good insurance etc....

if any body can help me i also want to find a good place to get insurance.i may have a problem has i i no no claims!!!!!i have been in a works car for too many years and want a car for the weekend ,i think the elise would be a good choice....im 33 and had no claims or no pionts for ...well ever...its just the No no claims thet will be a problem....any help will do

I was in a similar situation and so was my girlfriend as we have both had company cars for several years now...

certain insurance companies will IF you can get a letter from your employer to say that you've been on their insurance for X number of years without a claim allow you up to full no claims bonus (BONUS !!), our first quote for insurance for the two of us was £ 2300, Bell direct quoted £ 765 for both of us, allowing us full protected no claims bonus fully comp...

thanks timh...ill give them a bell then think a little bit harder about getting the cash together and go out and get a elise......some time soon i hope
