anyone have any experience of doing this?

I can get an ex-MGF VVC engine no problem, should be able to source an engine harness and ECU.
The main problem that I can foresee is linking this into the Elise vehicle harness.

would be grateful for any tips....

Well given that the 111S has one of these lumps its eminently possible, but I dunno what parts you'd need, and whether the cost would justify the work. Probably cheaper to sell your current car and chop it in for a 111S. Especially if you factor in residuals.

Ditch the harness and ECU, get a SH harness from somewhere an an Emerald ECU...pay someone 8 hours labour to swap it over

If thats too much cost/hassle then spend £1600 with Dave Andrews www.dvapower.com on your standard 120bhp K series and have 160bhp/140ft/lb (more than a 111S)

I have all the MGF parts already.
I'm planning to convert my existing engine (and thus keep the same engine number), but I could just drop the new engine in.

I wondered whether anyone had practical experience of doing the conversion - i.e. exactly what do i have to change on the vehocle harness to adapt to the new engine loom?
