S02s are used on Elises by lots of people, although mostly in the 225 width and 195's on the front. No direct experience, but I chased a SO2 equipped car round Goodwood on my P-Zeros and there didn't seem to be a lot in it one way or the other.
I've heard other claims that they are more predictable in the wet but dull the steering feel a little.

P.S. You do know Lotus have a new Elise specific tyre out? Yokohama Advan Neova LTS. Only available through dealers at £425 (RRP) a set plus fitting.

Thanks, I considered the Yokos but they are very soft so won't wear very well. I also had some A539s on my MX5, they were absolutely garbage in the wet & it seems they used to wear away just sitting on the drive!
I need to run my Elise through the winter as it is my only car & I've heard too many horror stories of P-Zeros in the wet. I'd get PZeros again if I only used my car in the dry.

I think my Yoko Advan Neovas are excellent in the wet compared to PZeros (have some horror experience with them too). Wear isn't too bad too -also use my Liz as a daily car-, but it seems rather difficult to balance them 100 % right, bumpy roads feel a lot 'bumpier'. Think I go for Toyos or GoodYears next time.
