Road Angel Fitting

My Road Angel is being delivered today. I want to fix it on the dash to the left of the steering wheel, just above the light switches. I am assuming that it plugs into the lighter socket but don't want wires all over the place.

Does anyone else have one wired up in their Elise (mine is an S1)? Ideally I would want to have a sockett put in where the spare unused light switch is. Is this possible.

I have also ordered the optional laser detector that fits in the back of the unit and attaches to the windscreen. Anyone have one and are they any good?
