My throttle pedal on my s1 moves left to right and can be a little unnerving under foot as it feels lose. Its probably not going to come off but is there anyway of stopping the movement?,

and could this be the course of a rattly sound when taking foot off pedal and slowing down?, when i put my foot slightly back on the trottle pedal it stops

Think there is a nut you can tighten down there. Bit of threadlock might not go amiss either. I'd sort it, as it could come off.

"rattly sound when taking foot off pedal"

I know exactly what you mean. It is difficult to describe but you look at the mechanism for pulling the cable, when the pivoting part comes to a rest (peddle released) it comes into contact with the bracket holding the assembly. I used a thin bit of rubbery black tape to cushion the point that touch. The whole assembly throttle linkage is a "bit" flimsy!

rob, it's a damn common problem cos of the way the throttle linkage is designed.

more on www.elises.co.uk and on morgan's site - www.sandercock.com

morgan sells a replacement linkage set too, though you can get a full replacement kit from lotus for less than a tenner. note that you'll need a friend to help set the cable up at the TB whilst you fiddle in the lotus position in the footwell....
