I have a s2 sport-135 with sports exhaust. Anyone know how I can identify which exhaust it is (car purchased second-hand) - tail pipes are large ovals with no markings on.

Also, can anyone recommend a good replacement air filter / indunction kit for the sport-135. I want a throatier sound and more power!

dunno about the exhaust - most likely the offical Lotus Magnex jobbie if it is a factory 135.

For induction I would go for a hurrican or ITG depending on how much you want to spend (£150 ish or £300) and whether you want aluminium or carbon fibre airbox

cheers

on the janspeed (at least on the s1) if you look down past the tail pipes into the box that sits underneah them you can read 'janspeed' embossed in the can

The S2 sport 135 does have an aluminium inlet manifold and modified air filter box so any change you make might only make small gains.

These quotes below came from Nick Adams the Elise development engineer on the OLC forum.

"The silencer was revised early in the S135's life, I believe the first 25 or so cars had the original silencer which has more of a boom between 3000 and 4000rpm than the later version."

"Lotus sports exhaust (which is indeed made exclusively for us by CLF)"

"Hi Miles, take off the nearside tailpipe and with the aid of a mirror and torch look up the end of the silencer. If you can see a small diameter restriction in the pipe about 3 inches in from the end then it has the later sytle low boom silencer already and is therefore one of the later cars.
Cheers, Nick"

I've got a 135 which was built 02/2002. It is quite boomy at 3500-4000 rpm. I've not checked which type it is but I'll have a look when I get the car back.

Hope this helps
