Does anyone know whether these are borowed from another production car or are they only used on the Elise?
Are they the same as the outgoing V8 Esprit?
Does anyone know how much they cost?
Are there any other production cars with very similar rear lights?

Regards Mike

Lotus bespoke parts I believe. They look similar to the ones on the Esprit, but dunno if they are identical or not. Incidently I think they look shit on the Esprit

Cost wise I dunno, there was a time when people trying to get hold of them had huge problems as they were on back order...

Ditto. The GTR lights are massive in comparison to the S2. The only similarity is that they are polo shaped and red.

They have got to be off another production car, Lotus surely do not have the production volume to have bespoke rear light clusters.

Why? The headlights on the S2 are bespoke too.

I assume Lotus got a good deal from Wipac (who manufacture these).

Lotus definitely has something to say about the production of these as the first pre-production S2's for dealer demo-cars and jouranlists had fully functional (and wired)center lights.

These fell foul of some type-approval rules and this feature was dropped and these light units were re-sealed with some gunk.

Production versions of the S2 have center units which are now simply no longer fully finished on one side. So these have been specifically modified.

Bye, Arno.
