Having driven all the Elise variants, S1 and S2 plumped for an Exige with all performance upgrades. Owned the monster for last 4 months can honestly say it is without doubt the most exciting car I've ever owned, my ownership includes Ferrari 246, 308GTB, Jag E Type, 13 Lotus, inc 2 Esprit turbo and GT3 and a ahem, Maser.

Elise handling is absolutely awesome, yep maybe power could be improved but its all about driveability and handling, didn't buy it for straight line speed, having said that Exige has to date never been embarrassed by 0-60 drag, but in 4.5 secs it is no slouch!!

Reliability and running costs are better than I imagined and I would thoroughly recommend ownership. IMHO S1 prices are now at rock bottom and I intend buying an S1 for those days you can actually take the roof off. Buy, buy, buy......

The problem with these reviews are that they all end up with 5 stars. Just look at the TVR ones from the other week.

Not sure we are the most objective reviewers

The five start thing is almost true. I noticed that the Tamora got didn't get a full house. You can also pick up on trends from the info though. The Griffith rarely gets a full score for ride and handling which should alert potential purchasers to the fact that it's no Noble.

More importantly the information being provided in the text is proving useful.

I'll be adding in some other cars shortly that are unlikely to score so highly which should provide some balance/context.

Clanger, how about posting your review in the reviews section that Ted linked to so that more people can see it?

Being an S2 owner, I'm happy to make derogatory posts about the S1 if you like?
