Had my Elise for exactly a week now and absolutely love it Unfortunately have not driven it as much as I would have liked due to having loads on in work and very cold weather resulting in the gritters working overtime. Hate the noise of grit bouncing off my nice paintwork

Went out for a great run today with the top off. Still can't believe the amount of heads it turns.

Gutted to find a nice fat screw imbedded in the front tyre when I was cleaning it this afternoon It's not deflating the tyre so it could have been in there for days. Anyone know how much a new PZero will be if it can't be repaired? I know everyone will say ditch them all and replace with Yoko Advans but after having just bought the car I cant afford £400 ish at the moment.

Does anyone else have problems with punctures and is the can of tyre foam supplied with the car any good?

Cheers

Congrats on your choice .. Lot of rubbish talked about P Zeros - just remember - in the wet don't put down the power too soon They are used too frequently as an excuse for bad driving Wouldn't change 'em just for sake of it.

The tyre foam is ok for the front but marginal (at best) for the rear tyres.

The can is a little too small, I carry an extra larger can ziptied to the original, If I HAVE to use it I want it to work . . . however many tyre repair people will not repair a tyre if you use the gunk, so you need to think about that.

Re. P-Zeros, I'd agree that they are often criticised where the real problem is driving errors, however they are significantly worse than some other tyres in the wet, but I'd be carefull in the wet and get my money's worth from them.

As far as I know are the Elise-sized Pzero's discontinued by Pirelli. You may find some leftover ones in stock, but no new ones are made anymore.

Rear ones in 225/45R16 may still be available, but front ones are no longer produced.

Thanks guys.

Fortunately I dont need a new one. Two guys at Kwik Fit had a look at it this morning for me. It was only a small screw and had not penetrated the tyre so no need for a new one or a repair job

Thanks for the comments on the PZeros I will keep them on especially as Summer is almost here (not that that makes any difference in Britain)and they are completely unworn.

The sun is still out so I'm off for another blast.
