Confusion about tyres
Discussion
I searched the archives on this website as well as Robert Collingridge's weboste and have become confused over the different variants of Yokohamas available. I am hoping the discussion on this thread will clear some air.
What are the types of Yokohamas available for the Elise?
1) Yokohama A539
Description: ?????
2) Yokohama A520
Description: ?????
3) Yokohama Advan Neova LTS
Description: (lifted directly from Robert Collingridge's website, I hope he doesn't mind)
Yokohama's aftermarket tyre constructed specifically for the Elise in conjunction with the Lotus ride and handling team and are aimed at the everyday Elise user, offering a better balance between wet and dry performance than the P Zero.....They are asymmetric and directional, and are available in 195/50/15 for the front and 225/45/16 for the rear.....These tyres have very good wet and dry performance. Note: Yokohama is the manufacturer, Advan is the tyre range and Neova is the model. The LTS denotes a Lotus specific tyre constuction and it is essential that tyres with this designation are fitted.
4) Yokohama A038-R
Description: I think these are semi-slicks designed for the 340R. Suspension upgrade is recommended to take full advantage of their dry grip.
5) Yokohama A038(are they the same as A038-R?)
Description: ??????
6) Yokohama Advan A048 LTS
Description: Comes fitted on the series 2 Sports 190. Not sure how good they are though. ??????
Can people please fill in the blanks for me as well as give a comparison between the tyres if they have any experience with them? thanks.

Can fill you in on a couple:
A539 are a tread pattern availble in a variety of sizes, asymetrical (I'm just about to buy some 165/60/12 A539 's for my mini)
A008 is another Yoko tread pattern symetrical variety of sizes.
The A038 was designed for the Elise AFAIK.
I've found a link which might help:
www.elises.co.uk/components/s1/tyres/
Don't know accuracy of site though.
