Hi guys, I wanted to get a S2 190 into Singapore but was told by the dealer that it probably won't get approved here. So my next best bet is to get the standard car or 111(s).

My two questions are:

1)Should I get the standard car or 111? Why?

2)What do I need to modify on the choice of S2 to make it handle like the S2 190 without the power?

thanks

You need a Std S2 with the Lotus Sport Suspension/wheel package. Costs around £3K extra. You get wider front wheels, which are lighter OZ items, new rears and Yoko rubber all round. Also you get different springs/dampers with adjustable ride height. I think braided hoses and Pagid pads are also included.

S2111s is fine, but the you may be better off getting a std non VVC car if you intend to tune at a later date as there are more tuning options available.

Hi bogie, thanks for the feedback.

I read that the higher gears of the S2 111 series are better for crusing as opposed to the standard one which has a close ratio transmission. Assuming that I won't ever upgrade the engine of either car, which do you think will provide a better drive? Care to share your reasons on your choice?

Everyone else's opinion is greatly appreciated.

If youre not going to tune it then get a 111S - youve got 160bhp (with the sport exhaust) right out of the box, the longer 5th gear for cruising, and air-con for those hot days, or winter mornings - the heater/fan is more powerful on air-con cars too. Get the LSS wheel/tyre/suspension package and youre sorted - should be able to get it all in for £30K

Yep get the 111s if you aren't going to tune it.

Even though I plan to tune my standard S2, I'm wishing I'd just got a 111s instead as getting a standard S2 past 150ish is a pain in the arse and probably means it will fail its MOT...
