Hi,
Can somebody tell me how big the doors on an S2 Elise are please?
The reason I ask is that I am toying with the idea of getting one, but it has to fit in the garage, which was not designed for modern cars. I can just about get a mk1 VW Scirocco in, but getting in and out is a bit of a struggle, the Elise is 10cm shorter (which is good) but also 10 cm wider.
Thanks in advance.

not sure about the s2, but the s1 the doors need to be opened fairly wide to get out compared to (for example) my g/f fiesta.
...a bit of practise means you can get out with a restricted opening, a popular solution for those with garages is a sheet of foam rubber on the wall that the door opens onto.

oh, this is with the roof on by the way, roof off is no problem - don't even need to open the doors!

The lemming is a faster typist than me then!

My garage is about 90" from side to side and I can get out of my MK1 really easily (which is about 68" wide). I would guess that anything bigger than about 80" and you'll be fine - key thing is to wind the window down before opening the drivers door - gives you loads more room to come out at an angle.
The Noble's a bit more of a squeeze though!

thanks for the advice guys, the g/f suggested that perhaps I could just take the roof off and get a set of monkey bars attached to the roof. I had a look at a neighboors car this afternoon, and judging by the way that the rear wheel arches flare out, I might be in with a chance. Have to get the tape measure out and see if I can make the magic 80" ....
