Vibration at speed
Discussion
Any ideas on the following?
There is a vibration (through steering wheel) which occurs at speed and can get quite severe when such speed increases.
I can stop this vibration at anytime by left foot braking.
Before I decide on getting the front wheels balanced, does anybody have thoughts on what else could be causing this problem?
Hopefully it is just 'out of balance' wheels but maybe not
Cheers

Hmmm, the only time I've experienced vibration as you describe is when the wheels needed balancing. Never tried left foot braking at speed, and nor would I want to so I can't suggest what else might be causing it.
My first port of call would definitely be a trustworthy tyre centre for a check. Only cost me £16 when I had mine done last month and it made a hell of a difference.

Wheel bearing, one of many balljoints, one of many bushes . . . perhaps unlikely to be out of balance wheels if dragging the brakes cures it . . .
does the car stop in a dead straight line if you emergency stop it ?
I had a similar problem on my old audi bus, vibration at speed and under braking, t'was a worn out bush in the suspension.
