front brake creak

When manouvering at very low speeds - ie parking, if the brake pedal is depressed when in reverse, I can detect a slight knock / creak coming from the front end. In forward direction theres nothing. Anybody experince anything similar?

Could be the brake pads moving about.

Could very well be the pads moving in the caliper, have a look at

www.elise-faq.info brakes page, noises section for some solutions . . .

The pads are an intentional loose fit for thermal expansion reasons, function over NVH . . .
