What type Elise/Exige with engine conversions are there for the S1 and S2, I know these;

>>Honda power 2.0L 190hp>>>240hp or 300hp SC(S1 and S2)

www.jimbocam.com/blink/dash-cam-pip1.mpg video 1

www.jimbocam.com/elvington/vA/elvA-j5goon1-vcd.mpg video 2

>>Ford Duratec 2.3L (Supertorque version) 190hp>>>275hp (S1 and S2)

>>Zcars bike engine 175>>>400hp (S1 and S2)

>>Audi 20 Valve turbo 1.8L 250>>>300+hp (S1)
www.auto-teknix.co.uk/index-files/tony1.mpg video

>>RST-V8 2.4L 320>>>400hp(only 74kg!) (S1)
www.motopower.co.uk

>>VW VR6 3.0L 230hp (S1)
(a few years ago in germany...?)

>>GM 3.0 V6 400hp (special build sport exige S2)

Those are the ones I know that are different from the 1.8L Rover K-series and the 1.8L Toyota engines
Do you know some more? and have some pics of the engine installed let us know.

that project died, when the dealer/tuner (Brandes & Dschüdow) went bust

Yes your right on that, the Audi biturbo engine produced 420hp in that top version! but they don't make that anymore...
But there was one for sale last year, a milder one,a 06-2004 111R in Esthi version very wide and only 8.000km on the clock color yellow, I see if I can find that one, they just asked the same price as a normal 111R but when you damage the car its a bit harder to get new clams...I have his e-mail too never used it though...
This one was on sale last year 15-09-2005 for asking price(2005) 41.900,-euro(28.300,-gbp) I still have that info, and it come's with some nice goodies too...

Also one big advantage when you want to see the engine, it can do this...

And I found a PH link out 2003 so you can read about it in your language...

have fun

Don't know what power it had but there was an Italian registered Elise with the Alfa engine on Stelvio 2000. I only ever saw it at rest, where it got a lot of attention, but word was that it handled terribly.

A cheap swap for a Std S1 is the 1.8 190BHP VHPD. I gather the going rate for the engine is sub £2K. A Std S1 would need an oil cooler and fitting. Around £2.5K max I should say.

The S/C Honda seems to be a popular choice like quite a few here just need the £13K.

Maybe most of you saw this Exige S1 before, but some of you don't I think, so here is this lovely example of a fast S1 Exige with Honda conversion;

www.prototyperacing.com/k20kit.htm

www.prototyperacing.com/radar.htm

fast and cool with 240hp and 0 to 60 in 3,7sec and 0 to 100 in just 8,9sec

Ok.. I will have to run close to the name and shame rules but if it saves somebody alot of money then I dont care. A company(alledgedly) rhyming with "schmoto-hype" (alledgedly)ripped alot of people off and also was investigated for fraud(alledgedly) by HMC&E.

Anybody getting suckered into any of the "hype" needs to do more research into the product and head over to SELOC for the history of all this.
