Hi

I have a S2 111s and the coolant is well below the line on the bottle. The previous owner had the car from new and said that it has always been that way – it’s been mentioned at all of its services and there is no reason for it, but it hasn’t seemed to have harmed the car.

Any thoughts?

in winter it will show less remember. Mine shows at the lowest point at the moment, although if it fell below that point I might start to get concerned. Kseriesitis I think my condition is called.

Have a look at hte coolent level when the engine is warm. If the level is still beloew the mark then I would top it up. Should never really be checked when cold

Somethimes the books that go with your car tels what the level shoot be at cold or warm...
Best when cold...also some cars have it stansd in the coolant reservoir! look good! here could be a level wich says "min level cold" and "max level cold" look at you reservoir.
But be careful, best fill it up only when cold! because when the cooland is hot you can get burnt or it cools down to hard when you drop a lot of coolant in it, and that can harm the cars engine or other stuff...because of the great difference between hot(expand) and cold coolwater.

Mine is like this too. It seems to drop to a little bit under the min mark and then stays there. I'm not bothered about it to be honest with you. I think they all have their own levels at the end of the day. I wouldn't worry about it
