Lotus Elise Sales in the USA
Discussion
Just curious if any of you know of the sales success (or lack of) in the US? There seems to be a good availability of 2005 models - maybe too good?? For example there are at least 4 or 5 on Ebay right now, with some dealers saying they got more...seems kinda odd considering there was not exactly a high number delivered into this market (or so I presume).
If you want to know whats going on with the Elise in the USA you need to go here

According to the latest issue of Lotus Club International magazine from launch in July 2004 to July 2005, Lotus has delivered 2385 cars. The original target was around 2000 units, so things appear to have gone well.
Regards, Neil
PS the magazine also contains a photo of the Europa in which the car looks very good!, although it is dark and covered in rain!!

Well that is good, I hope they do well here, I guess what I see is the typical "clearing" of the remaining 05's to get ready for the new models.
Bumper year of sales for Lotus 4000+ IIRC Making poor money on US cars though due to exchange rates
Think they may be making the same mistake as they did in the UK - over producing, discounting new models and hitting residuals which hit demand. As a 2nd/3rd car that losses little money it is easier to justify.
Your sales are funding the esprit development - so God Bless America I say
