It's taken a while but here's some pics of my 111S which I became a proud owner of back in September.

Anyone else got a S2 111S here? I would like to hear how you're getting on with your car.

I've done about 2500 miles since September and being my only car until next March (waiting for delivery of the M3 ) it has been running very smoothly. I had some initial teething problems with the drivers door lock sticking, took it back a couple of times to get it sorted and when it eventually jammed where you put the key in and it won't let you twist the key, I got a new set of locks replaced under warrenty. Other than that no further problems to report.
Obviously like most of you guys and gals with an Elise/EXige, practicality is the least of your considerations, it' definately brings a smile to my face seeing it in the morning or going for a quick blast. Most of my mates think I made the wrong purchase as most of them have Civic Type-R's, Imprezas, 172's and comfort cars. They complain about only seating 2 people and not able to get in easily but hey at the end of the day it makes me happy and that is good enough for me.
I don't really need to go on about the steering, feedback and adjustability as it is second to none. it is noticably faster than the standard S2 Elise but brute power is not really what I'm after. Although the car has a sports exhaust pipe which comes on after 4500rpm or 75% throttle opening, the sound is still not as meaty as it could have been, I might consider an exhaust upgrade next year.
On the issue of build quality, I have to say mine's is impeccable so far (touch wood). Glad I went for the alcantara as it gives the interior a sense of warmth compared to the leather chairs. The alcantara seats grips you that little much better also. The heating could be better as it either blows cold or hot air and I don't know if the VVC engine's got anything to do with this, the heating seems to take a while to warm up. It's never hot like my previous car (MK 4 Golf GTi). The stereo is fine and radio reception is a bit dodgy in certain areas but I can live with that!
The only thing I'm complaining about is the lack of sunny weather up in Edinburgh now. Bleeding rain and dark days. The hardtop definately stays on till March! For anyone thinking about getting the hardtop for the S2, I would definately recommend it if your car isn't garaged and for me it makes the car look so much better with one fitted on. Also happy with Laser Blue.
So far, I've got nothing but high praise for it!

I used to have an S1 so quite agree with everything said and having driven standard S2s around Hethel the improvements are well worthy.
The VVC engine seems to be the one to have according to a review (CAR or EVO?) recently because of it's superior 'sound' over the boggo k-series cooking lump. Which did/does, let's be honest, sound bloody awful (sports exhausts always mandatory!).
The roads around Inverrary next summer, perhaps? Sounds like a little bit of paradise!
Lovely colour too. Fab car, mega-grin inducer; ultimate toy per pound expended.
