How many elises and exiges have bought it in the last few weeks - between PH and SELOC, seems to be one every couple of days. Heaven knows what this will do to my premiums next year.

Every year when the roads get greasy some people dont take this into account and find out the hard way how little grip there is on some roads.

I dont think any more cars have been written off this year than any other year TBH.

Usual stories emerging. Just goes to prove, advanced driving lessons and exploring the limits of the car off the public highways are the best mod you can do.

Having said that I was driving right on the limit on Sunday night coming back from the GF's having a little 1-on-1 with a big Merc 4x4. Obviously someone who knew the road and who was a decent driver (was using all the road). It was wet, cold, dark & raining, lovely Kent & Sussex twisty B-roads using mainly 2nd, 3rd and 4th gears in the upper echelons of the revs, dancing the car across the skittish slipperly road surface, it was just exquisite. A couple of times I backed off as I was very very close to the limit but was never off this guys tail even with all his electronic gizmotronics and lunatic driving.

Got home and my adrenaline levels were through the roof! To be honest I was probably driving a lot faster than I should have been given the conditions but the car (even on tyres which I don't think are THAT great [toyo's]) just felt so well balanced and planted that it was a joy even in sh!tty weather.

Its my first winter with the Elise on Yoko 48's and I can't beleive how little grip there is on the mucky roads.

The back is constantly fidgeting around coming out of corners. At v low speeds coming out of junctions and roundabouts its shocking how sideways you can get

Take care out there!!

Just my first year of being active on pistonheads or Seloc, so probably didn't realise last winter. My car is a daily driver, but I have driven like "Miss Daisy" for the last couple of months. Sad thought that this slow pace persists when I am on the track......

Indeed, this guy must have known the road really well though as he had all the breaking points and lines through corners down pat, kept a pretty surprising turn of speed going in such an unweildy vehicle. I began to wonder if I was being ghey at one point until I looked down on a straight and realised I was possibly going faster than I should have been
