Looked at the starter kits this morning and they're about £120 ish. Do you really need all the bits in the kit? Is it workth while getting the kit or should I buy just a few individual items that are absolutely necessary.

I've bought Autoglym kits in the past and only used one or two things, the rest is untouched.

Gooby has a good supply of Zymol products, he could well be the man to anwer that one. We have done three cars this year with the full 3 part exterior finish and i can say it is just so good. If you have the means i can highly recomed it.

My local expert Parke Farme do a kit that contains about half a usual pot of the 3 most expensive zymol waxes. It works out about £150 but is about a £1k worth of wax. It is brilliant and GEORGEOUS stuff and I cant recomend it enough. It includes the wask and the "chocolate" stuff so you syill have to get the clay bar and clay lube.

The "chocolate" stuff looks and smells like fine belgian chocolate. I had girls stop in the street to sniff my car and look at me adoringly.

Use the clay then the "chocolate" then finish with the wax. The finish is just beautiful and incredible. This is uncommon but the stuff is really nice to use and I really spending a few hours waxing the car.

After you have used the clay and the "chocolate" your car will feel incredible. The only way I can describe it is the car feels like the finest smoothest silk in the world. Then you add the wax and it is incredible.

I found that I had to buy new micro fibre cloth's because the autoglym on the last ones does the finish no favours.

When you buy it, hide the reciept from the wife. She nearly killed me.

I have started using the wheel cleaner and this stuff is incredible. Really does the best job and considering it takes me as long to clean the wheels as it does the rest of the car, I appreciate a good cleaner.

The also make a "spritz" showroom glaze product. If you want to spruce up the finish but dont have time to wax then spray on and microfibre off. Smells like coconut oil or as I prefer to think of it, the hawian tropic team and makes the car shine.

I have tried autoglym and it is ok, maguires is absolute sh!t but Zymol is the bees knees and the wasps nipples.

Interesting. Have not used Zymol but it sounds the danglies. Have used old skool turtle wax, 'glym, Megiuars 3-step and Meg's Gold Class and have to say that of all of them, the 'glym polish is better than the Meg's, but the Gold Class wax is superb.

Must get a clay bar...
