Value of an Exige?
Discussion
Hi,
Any ideas of the value of this car:
Lotus Exige (November 2000 "X")
Finished in Norfolk Mustard Yellow with Black Kevlar racing seats trimmed in Alcantara with 4-point harnesses. Black wheels, 177 bhp engine tune, Sony CD
player, Exige mats, Black alcantara trim pack, Momo removable steering wheel, factory fitted Thatcham category 1 alarm and immobiliser, driving lamps. 3837 miles from new, with full Lotus service history.
Cheers,
Ed

Totally depends where those miles have been done. look at general body condition, paint chips, any rubber on undertray, undertray generally - could indicate trackday use? - check service history (tho' there won't be much) with servicing dealer. With that mileage in A1 condition private sale reckon on £23k for a 177bhp, dealer £25.5k. But condition is everything, also set of tyres is circa £650 - rears at 3.5k miles will only have 1k left on them (unless already replaced - another indication of track use). View a few before parting with any readies. I viewed 12 (tested 4) before buying mine. Nearly bought 1st one I saw - pleased I didn't.
Track use in itself should not put you off buying a particular car - they are built to take it - but increased possibility of damage to engine, body, chassis, etc. Also use in any negotiation.
