I know that you can personalise the rims in either gold or black, but i was just wandering if you could have them sprayed in a different colour, possibly a sort of charcoal metallic black. Has anyone done this?

I would imagine any specialist wheel restorer could paint you any colour you wanted. Just depends if the colour has been developed with the right properties to be used on wheels.

I assume wheel paint is 'tougher' than your average Dulux! (stone chips, salt, brake dust, etc.)

It happens for show cars all the time. That 'alloy' silver is never alloy, just paint.

Alloy wheel refubishment place, or a paint shop should be able to sort you out no problem. A paint shop should have a better (i.e. full range of colours to choose from also - thousands). If your wheels are in good nick the cost should be low also as less prep time.

Think of having decals cut in comlpementory colours for that all essential 'OZ' or 'Lotus' detailing too.
