Morning chaps,
A customer of mine is returning to the united states early part of next year.During his stay in this fine country of ours he purchased an 03 111S from me. He wants to take his Elise back with him, and unfortunately I have little knowledge of the processes which need to be adhered to in preperation for shipping and once he gets stateside to enable registration etc. Does anyone on the site have any pointers, experience or contacts who can help?

Could be a problem as the K series won't pass emissions over there.

Probably worth a post on elisetalk - www.elisetalk.com/forums/ - as that's a US based forum and there are definitely K-series cars over there (inc. 340Rs) but how legal they are I don't know.

Can get them into some states but others will crush it or force export... be very careful.

Hi Goobs,
Believe me we tried, unfortunately after a rather spirited test drive, the chap in question, decided that the R was too loony north of 6000, and settled for the S.

I may scare them but there are many really good drivers that could drive much faster and you would have confidence in thier skill. I am brash, good drivers are smooth. A skill I have yet to acquire!

Getting it out there is a doddle, getting it past the authorities is another matter.
Southampton docks have numerous Ro-Ro's going to Florida each month
