Unfortunately I've just had a prang in my s2 elise. The front bumper (the bit holding the grills and number plate etc) is pretty damaged (not really repairable i wouldn't think), but the rest of the front clam is fine.

Is it at all possible to get a replacement front bumper part, or am i going to have to buy a whole new clam?!

Either way, what kind of cost do you think i am looking at? My excess on my insurance is pretty high, so I am wondering if a claim is even worth it.

Thanks for any help.

Not sure about the S1, but the S2 does not have a front bumper, the line that makes it appear that the front of the car is 2 seperate pieces, is fact just a indent in the front clam.
The front clam starts from under the number plate and continues back as far as the windscreen at the top and the door line on the sides IIRC.

Sorry for the bad news. It maybe worth having a try ay one of the local Fibreglass specialists. I was quoted nearly £2k for some work to be carried out on my car, was initially told it needed a whole new front clam. After visit to a specialist, it cost me £250.

Didn't realise that the front was all one clam - thanks for that info Beachbum.
Andrew.

There's no such thing as a 'bumper' on the Elise I'm afraid chaps.

Get in touch with a good Fibreglass bodyshop, you'd be amazed what can be fixed even if you've given it a proper tw@tting!

Edited to add: Alan & Tim, where in Sussex are you? Post up and I'm sure we can recommend people. If you're near the coast there's Fibreglass Services - what Miles & Ian can't fix ain't worth fixing - and if you're nearer London Sinclaires have a superb bodyshop.
