My 111R has covered 3500 miles since new - took it out over the last few days and it feels quicker and more responsive... The gear change also feels slicker - basically feels great!

I know they're sposed' to get better with more miles but thought perhaps 10K would be when I'd notice...

Colder air now that winter is setting in?

Saying that, today is quite warm here.

I am led to believe that you really feel a difference at the milage you have stated. It could also be as has been stated, the slightly colder air.

Hi Short2bits,

following the same line, my R has 6000 km (4000 mls) and since the track day of last thursday, I feel her more prone to take rpm and gear change are also smoother and with a better feel of the lever.
It might come from my experience with the car but I felt that driving in the city with 18 °c outside. Hit second came only once due to traffic but definitively feel the car "unlashed"
It might be due to my 360° on the track at 70 mph

I also feel that my car improved at around 3,500 miles. I am at 4,500 now and the gearchange is certainly easier and smoother (once the car is hot) and generally it seems better than new.

I test-drove an Exige with 3,800 on it and the thing that pretty much stopped me buying it (I did REALLY want to fall in love) was the harshness of the cam-switchover.

Just recently I had a chat to a mate who drove one with about 6k on the clock and he said it was just awesome, cam changeover was still noticeable but wasn't a sudden BANG-and-you're-off affair like the demo car I tried.

Shame really but saved me about 14k in the process!

Was that me, Tim? I definitely preferred the 6K Exige I drove to the 600-mile 111R at launch. I've heard a few people say the cam-change smoothes out, although I'm sure the Pipercross filter helps as well.

It's certainly had me thinking (and so I bought a Hurricane )

Cam change definetely smoothes out with the miles, I noticed it after about 4500 on my exige.
