Hello all,

I had an Incident where the Women in the toll both at the Dartford Tunnel seemed to drop the arm onto the top of my car, it resulted in my jumping out and shouting etc at the Lady, in the end a Traffic control officer came over and took detail's etc and asked me to take it to a Garage for a quote, here we are a Month later with nothing other than a guy promising us action but nothing seems to be going forward, should I go to the paper's Solicitor etc ?

Afternoon all,

You can tell by the nature of my previous post that I'm very angry, just thought that I'd add, the car now seems to be leaking and I'm my view need's replacing. I'm not trying to scam them I just think that I should get some sort of compensation as well as my roof replaced.

I would talk to my insurance company. They would be able to chase the 3rd party for the damages. I would also have a chat to the local police and get a crime number.

I dropped my car off at the paint shop today... not quite the same thing but in a way similar. RAC Windscreens dripped window hardener on the top of the offside front wing. They asked me to get quotes and then promised to have an assessor come out to look. After 2 months I rang through, threatened them with a solicitor if they didn't respond in 24 hours, they then put me through to someone who authorised the work there and then .....

Only downside, I now have a sh*tty Nissan Micra sat outside form the hire company..........

Still about a million stone chips will be gone by the end of the week....

One problem you may have is that the arms are made of expanded foam -Polystyrene. Certainly they were. I know this because I've driven through one & because I know of someone who tried to claim for a dented roof along the same lines. The insurance assessor came round with a Dartford crossing arm & whacked the car repeatedly with it doing no damage.

Mark - I reckon you'll come to love the Micra.........

Hmmm, as someone quite rightly pointed out, they do roll around well at Le Mans, but this one is dreadful.. it's like driving a van. I am sure the Elise would fit under the drivers seat....
