Have now had my fabulous Elise for about six months but thought I should mention this in case anyone has similar symptoms. After owning the car for a couple of weeks I had noticed that under hard but not daft braking there was a slight clunk from the front left wheel but put this down to "they all do that sir". Was more than a little surprised when the left suspension parted company with the rest of the car whilst driving my wife back from meal out. Fortunately it happened at about 10 MPH. When I walked back I was able to find a nylok nut on the road 50 yards back. When AA turned up and were able to bodge a way of jacking up car we were able to lower suspension back in place and refit nut and subsequently complete the journey (slowly). Fortunately only damage was a little grazing to wheel arch and everything seems fine months and thousands of miles later. I was lucky as we were going so slowly but it could have been different if we were travelling faster. Could see no reason for my nuts coming off so to speak so thought it worth posting a thread in case anyone else feels their nuts are rotating! P.S it is the bolt at the bottom of wheel hub assembly (ball joint to wishbone I think)

At least get your spelling right if you're going to take the piss out of his punctuation!

aww come on guys - a little bit of humour never hurt anyone.

If you take a second to lighten up maybe, just maybe, you might enjoy yourself for once.

Fortunately I think mine will have been one of the smallest.

Left home with a full tank and spent another £65 during the day.

What did everyone else spend?

Anyone actually going to say "Thanks for the heads up", rather than just slagging each other off today.

Is it red flag day for Lotus owners or something.

Oh.... and thanks for the heads up.

I thought this catty kind of exchange was for other and inferior forums.

Here, here - couldn't agree more.

Didn't realise there were such grumpy old gits on PH - it used to be such a nice place.

And back to the topic - good advice from Corkery11.

I was braking from around 70 (cough) approaching a roundabout last night. Took the roundabout at 30ish - nice and easy with all the braking done when I heard a clunk from the right rear. I presume all the weight was on the other 3 wheels as it was a right hander.

Gets me worried now - anyone have an idea about this? Nothing appears wrong but I've never noticed the noise ever before.

Cheers people.

sorry should have mentioned in my case it was front nearside where I had the problem ill not bother with puctuation so as to give sethlj something to correct you might want to start with a capital at the start of the sentence though

Now Now ladies. Can we all calm down and use this forum for its primary purpose

i.e. Organinsing meets, exchanging technical info and slagging off anything other than true Sports cars.
