Got bored at lunch today and registered this domain. Thinking it could be a fun site to collate photographs of the drive outs and stuff.

What shall I include?

Current thoughts:

Forum - link to this one so no new logins etc.
Members Area
Gallery - members could have the logins and upload as and when

Whatcha think?

WOW !!!!
Top man.
Gets my vote.

Would suggest we use it as a means of organising meets, as Pistonheads is in reality the place where most people obtian tech info.

Cool.

I can set up a separate forum on boloc.co.uk without any problems, but it would mean everyone re-registering on there. Easier to keep this forum and just link from the boloc site?

thats easy enough to organise. Dunno about the SMS one... unless everyone pays £1.50 a txt and I start raking it in!

The question is how much time do you have for keeping up with web sites. Each time I log on I have to try to remember to look at Piston Heads, SELOC, LOT, BBS. Elise talk USA,(just to see what the yanks say about the LIZ)
How many more?
Phil.

Phily, you do have a very good point but really if you dont like them you can leave them to the members who support them. What is basically happening is the consumer is being given choice.

BoLOC's meets a requirement / nieche that the others do not cater for. You yourself say that you can not post on SELOC as it is too cliquey and defensive and generally quite closed to decent debate. That is why we are here and whatever the fate of BoLOCS, I will still be here.

If it doesnt work then OK, seeing as the BoLOC's is simply about great cars, great people and great fun then we will enjoy whatever!

I didn't mean to come across as critical of Rico's efforts. I think it's brilliant that he is so enthusiastic as to build a web site for BOLOC content.
I have seen it and it looks great, I just think it will be a shame to put it great effort if it is not rewarded by substantial support. By that I mean more than the few who post on the BOLOC threads.
Having said that, there are other sites dedicated to local areas like NORLOC etc which receive enough support to make them worthwhile. It seems the only way to keep in touch with the full Lotus community is to visit every web site.
Phil.

Even if it is just a site to chuck a few pics of the local drive outs, then it serves a purpose. It costs me nothing to host (i own a web hosting company) and a couple of quid for the domain.

It was never intended to replace PH or Seloc or any other site. It's just for the dozen or so regular bournemouth PHers to chuck some pics on

Thanks for your kind words though
