Can you move the passenger seat forward? Does it allow you to unbolt and reposition?

No, not unless if you have new plates made up to attach it to.

I only know because I had my seats out at the weekend.

If this is a S2 then no - there's just one position.

I did however notice the other day that the passenger seat has less space between it and the sill compared with the drivers side! No wonder you feel cramped in the passenger seat.

OK, Hijacking the thread a little bit here, but my seats and interior need a good clean...

...is removing the seats a viable option.

Take them inside - clean em etc
Wash the now spacious interior?

That sort of thing

Yes, that is what I did at the weekend, all spangly now. I took them out, which is fiddly but very easy. I used a socket set with extension and allen head, an allen key and also a flexi drive to make the job easy.

Once out the interior was very easy to clean, I found £2.21, 3 Haribo cola bottles, shower gel (?? Don't ask, I went to Le mans earlier in the year) and a lot of muck (Mainly Houx Annexe Le Mans dust) under the seats. Hot soapy water and a VAX got it sorted though. Getting the seats back in was easy after this....

Correct.

In the Elise the seats are not mounted symmetrically in the car. The driver's seat is positioned more to the center and also gets more legroom as a result.

Take a good look and you'll see that the seats are also angled slightly on their frames toward the center of the car.

This is also the reason that fitting a sliding rail to the passenger seat usually doesn't do that much as it runs against the chassis beam and the center divider very quickly, only giving about an inch of adjustment.

Bye, Arno.
