Toll Tunnel Hell

Morning all,

It was a lovely sunny Sunday morning driving back from Hornchurch in Essex to my home town of Dartford. I had the roof up as I was going to pop into Bluewater shopping centre to get some currency for my trip to Ibiza of Wednesday & couldn't be bothered to put the roof back on straight away. We pulled up to the pay booth's and as usual the Women couldn't be bothered to put her hand down to collect the money, after struggling to reach up and say "Good Morning" as I usually do I then proceeded to drive through the booth's when crash the barrier came straight down onto of my Car :mad:

Un-happy to say the least but thank god there doesn't seem to be any damage apart from the Heart attack that I nearly had, I couldn't believe it the bloody Women didn't even apologise and left it to the Traffic control officer to come over and inspect the car and offer some help, they took some Photo's and said sorry but I'm sure I should be able to get them to give me some sort of compensation imagine if we hadn't had the roof up we'd have both been knocked out or worst ? :confused:

Not good! There seems to be a problem with barriers and low cars - I remember going into Gatwick car park behind a 4x4 in my first Elan. The barrier wouldn't go down after the 4x4 went through until I went over as well. Must've thought my car was a trailer.

Anyway hope your car is okay - I'm sure that the council will be liable for any damage done to your vehicle so worth inspecting is carefully.

Bloody hell mate - that could've been nasty. Make sure you check the car very, very carefully. Sod's law says you'll find something in a few weeks and then you won't be able to bring it up with them.

Meantime, hope you have a wicked holiday, will see you for the Thorpe Park run on the 18th!
