Whilst out today I saw both a young (about 23) and ‘old’ person (about 55) driving a Lotus and this made me wonder who is the youngest and oldest people out there driving these great cars. If you think you’re the youngest or oldest lets here about it.

Lets just say I am likely to be at the upper end of the range, but hopefully not at the top.

As the saying goes "Growing old is madatory, Growing up is an option"

best ive ever seen was on a run about 3 years ago up North - an elderly couple turned up in an S2...must have been late 60's easy ...the guy got out fine, went around and helped his missus out - then got her walking stick out of the boot...respect...hope I enjoy my retirement that much

I'm 25 and am the youngest Elise owner in my country... not on here though.... Elises are MUCH cheaper in the UK than here.

I got my first lotus Elise... a gorgeous Calypso red 111s W reg when i was 21.
Then when 23 exchanged that for a real head turning Type 25.
Now 25... looking for my third

I was 24 when I got my new S1 in January 2000. Obviously, having such youthful looks, people thought I was still in my teens! :cough:

Sadly, the big 3-0 looms now.......

Pretty good by comparison... I'm paying about $1000 a year which is about 400 quid to you for full cover with all sorts of bonuses on top of that (glass, bonus cover etc)... bear in mind that we don't have compulsary insurance over here so I COULD just not have it at all if I chose to But bear in mind we earn a LOT less over here than you guys do over there... bear in mind that my premium is actually very high because of the "rarity value" of the Elise in NZ it's actually more expensive than you might expect.... I think there's only 20-25 S1 Elises over here so insurance companies really don't want to touch me... but I have a good record etc so I'm not TOO bad
