I really want one. And I keep missing them. For a variety of unlikely reasons. Seems that one, maybe two are advertised per year. Silverstone had one but it’s had a deposit placed on it. Anyone here running one? Any views?

Isn’t the Sprint just a sport 220 with all the carbon bits?

If that’s the part that interests you, could you create your own from a 220 by adding the parts?
Don’t think there is anything mechanical that’s different about them

There are the roll hoop, engine deck and front cover for sale at the moment all genuine (think chap is selling them on eBay)
and I may have a set of genuine carbon seats that have just been upholstered by Allon white for sale soon

Lotus did a 134 bhp sprint and a 220. Good review here

You are right. It’s a black pack 220 with three exterior carbon panels- front access panel, deck lid and roll bar cover. Plus the carbon seats from the cup.
Those carbon pieces are big money. I have the deck lid and roll bar cover- not yet the front access panel. The seats, trimmed in the OEM pattern are ££££ as well.
I’d rather just buy a Sprint but they scarcely come up at all. I’ve no interest in the lower powered version, which I suppose narrows the field even further.
Don’t think I’ve ever seen one advertised in a private sale either .

Lightweight wheels as well as carbon bits, lithium battery.

Forged wheels were quite common on 220 anyway I think, standard on Cup. Think both the lithium battery and titanium exhaust were options rather than standard

I think the rear screen is polycarbonate rather than glass

I have one (I think we've spoke before).

Still love it, although I must confess it gets harder to get in and out of! The driving experience is second to none, but its very raw, even over a 'standard' 220.

I heard that the clamshells were also slightly thinner/lighter than standard too.

There's certainly more than one left.

According to my certificate of provenance, mine is 1 of 15 and the only one in this colour teacher

The prices on these remain firm, the most recent sold at £45k.

Last car was sold via a well known specialist via Silverstone. Who warrantied it. That was orange too. I still fancy one. Not at £45k though

Unfortunately you may keep missing out then, they just seem to go up in price.

I didn't buy it as an investment, but its certainly done very well based on what I've been offered.

Maybe. But there are loads of other cars I’d like to try. I’ve done well over the years keeping any depreciation I suffer to a minimum. The Elises for sale at £40k plus take seasons or years to sell. Stratton have had that red car well over 12 months.
I have the carbon parts to fit and I’ll buy a 220 if one presents with low miles (with forged wheels) in a private sale.
Due to the numbers available, they don’t seem much affected by depreciation. But they aren’t £40k plus cars - not for me anyway. I was offered your car at £32k and regret turning it down.

That was three years ago, and I understand you didn't offer enough at the time from your previous correspondence.

I've been offered £45k for it as is. But I don't need or want to sell it currently, if it goes down I don't care, it's about the car, I also doubt i'll ever be out of pocket on it.

Sure you can add some carbon bits to a 220 (the seats alone as you mention are £'000's, but doesn't make it a Sprint, and of the 15 made not all are 220's and none have my colour, and not many have my titanium exhaust and full alcantara interior. The car at Stratton isn't a Sprint either.

Horses for courses, if you don't feel the value is there then don't buy one, but respectfully, don't complain about missing out when you won't pay the premium?

I’m not ‘complaining about missing out’ I’d rather not be into £40k plus for an Elise. So I’m not. They are value at what you paid. The market was pumped up for a long time but we are seeing an end to that now. I mentioned the Stratton car as it’s been for sale for seasons. Elises are niche cars, they don’t seem easy to sell.
Most looking for an Elise seem to want a Cup, which I don’t really covet. Not keen on the aero personally. As you say, you’ll do well with yours as it’s a rare spec. Enjoy in good health.

I’m guessing you don’t fancy selling either?
