Hi everyone - my mates looking at a 2014 s3 and wanted to know if it’s possible to retrofit the visible linkages from the later model at a reasonable price?
Thanks!

Lotus will tell you this cannot be done , but I believe that someone has made this change to their car. Not sure how easy it is to do and I imagine it would be quite expensive.

Possible, yes, advisable?
One of those things where its probably better and cheaper to buy a car with what you want in the first place…
(i.e. don’t buy a red car and paint it green, buy a green one).
I have fallen into this trap many times.
Sometimes the desire to make the change goes away once you have the car, you realise it’d be incidental

The words slightly betray that I think you should do it!
I would smile

Exige?

A few people have made the change via Datum motorsport, I believe.

Maybe worth a look at the Dolomiti shifter as well (no idea if they are any good but I think they look great).

Dan at HPE Automotive has designed and sells an exposed shifter for the early S3 Exige. It is extremely good.

Yes it can be done, I retro fitted the first later style shifter to GF Williams V6 and have done many since, then I designed and manufactured my own billet replacement version.
