Took my R in to the dealer today for some work - window stuck, roof falling apart (bit of an exaggeration!) and also to remove the paint which was splashed on the alloy.

Also, asked them to sort out the drivers seat - the leather is starting to wear. It looks as though it's been caused by the seat belt. Service from Strattons just called to say they've spoken to Lotus and that they're basically not going to do anything about it  because it's just wear and tare.

I reckon it's totally unacceptable - he said I'll probably have to meet with a Lotus rep onsite to discuss it - more of my time.

Not happy with LOTUS at all.

Car was purchase late May 05.

Don't be put off by there Service Department there usually really cool, this is total nonsense wait for him to come back to you first and see what he says, how can they honestly say it's wear and tear who's had the seat's before you then ? I thought the car was brand new ? being sarcastic a little here

Yeah, the seats are pretty poor quality... Going to be real careful once they've sorted it... I forgave Lotus on the way home through the twisty bits past Wymondham where they're based

Any complaints about the biscuit colored leather seats?
If i buy one those would be my choice.

I have biscuit in my 111s and have no probs at all. Still on good nick, one or 2 littel tiny winy scuffs on the driver bolster, i have put this down to wearing jeans as the rivet bits scuff a little bit when getting in and out. Bisucit looks great though, wouldn't have been my choice until I saw it in the flesh and loved it!

Yes, i didn't thought about the biscuit seats at first but then i saw them in an other tread pictured in a black elise. Fantastic!
And it wasn't just the seats but the whole trim with steering wheel, etc...

Had to chase Strattons for an update... I figured they'd sort the problem and call me back to have the seat replaced or something... However, I now have to meet with a rep from Lotus (at the dealer) as he wants to look at the seat - even though the service dept and sales have already looked when the car was in for some work.

Apparently the rep is busy so he only has a limited amount of slots... Like I'm not busy!? So, net result is that I have to take time out of my day for Lotus to decide whether to replace a seat in a £30K car which (at the time) had covered 2.5K miles...

It's not great service to say the least...

To be honest, I might as well have bought from broadspeed or someone because the dealers doing me no favours... I understand it may not be their fault I guess...

I was in Stratton this morning getting my nose badge sorted (see earlier post) - surprised I didn't see you there!

That seat problem needs sorting - totally unacceptable. Stratton are pretty good usually.

Update - met with the Lotus rep and they've agreed to replace the seat. Strange thing was that he tried to make excuses saying it was inevitable that the wear would happen! He also mentioned they might be able to touch it up with a pen or something!? Needless to say I mentioned the only acceptable outcome was a new seat.

At the same time I collected a quote for £275 to respray the front clam as I crunched the underside on a curb the other week when parking - forgot how low the car is

Does this sound reasonable?

Here you go... Not a massive amount of wear but IMO, any wear on a car which had covered 2500miles is unacceptable...

And to be fair, that’s exactly what they did use... After the mechanics of the car, everything else is an afterthought … still love it though!
