Started the car with one of the seats out and underseat SRS connector disconnected - doh!! Got an airbag light now. This was last summer whilst upgrading the stereo.

Anyone know what vehicle / model Lotus borrowed the SRS system from (if they indeed did). I took it to the main Belfast auto-electrics experts and their latest Snap On and Autel diagnostics tools could not put it out, thoigh they reckon if they knew which 'other' manufacturer it came from, then they could (under Lotus it just went as far as 2011 year).

My supplying dealer checked the steering airbag part to see if it had any third party branding but it did not - just Lotus branded sticker.

Anyone know how to put it out without a trip to an official dealer (I don't have one local to me and don't fancy a ferry trip just for this).

Thanks.

In your quest, you might find a code reader that suggests it can be used with some Chevy Aero or Daewoo Something or other, but don't waste your time and effort, trust me.

I had to go to the dealer to get mine sorted (albeit on an Evora which uses the same system) frown

Funny, I found one thread that suggested that selecting Daewoo Epica/Tosca would sort it. It could not read the codes, but it did offer the reset option - didn't work though.

Maybe I am am destined for a power upgrade / airbag light reset trip before the MOT is due biggrin

Aye that’s the thread I was referring to, no matter what I tried it didn’t work and I sent the thing back.

At the time it didn’t occur to me, but there’s a really good auto electrics place near me that maybe could have done it. If there’s one near you it might be worth giving them a call

I did take it to a vehicle electrics specialist and they tried their Autel and Snap On scanners, but could not put the light out. If they knew the manufacturer/model that Lotus had borrowed the SRS system from then they would likely be able to do it. Maybe Lotus have not actually borrowed though... It says "Made in Romania" on the airbag module - that is the extent of my knowledge thus far.
