Hi all

As the title suggests I am a tall guy trying to work out if I have any hope of fitting in a later Elise or Exige V6?

I know I should go and actually try, but finding it hard to locate cars to go and sit in, so wanting to attempt to get an idea on here first.

Thanks

There's a video somewhere of Gordon Murray trying to get into an Elise. He's 6'4"

Spoiler alert - he doesn't fit.

You'll almost certainly fit comfortably in any post 1990 TVR.

And he's 3 in shorter than the OP by the sounds of it.

I'm 6ft 1" and 125kg's

I managed to get in my S2 Exige fine but was on the very last notch of the seat (would have loved one more to extend for the motorway) so I don't think you'd fit unfortunately

I’m 5’7 and it’s a struggle with the roof on , roof off is A-LOT easier ! You need to go and try one, but 2m is highly unlikely you will fit , your knees will be out of the windows .
Maybe say where you are in the uK and someone willlwt you try , definitely video it because I suspect it will be hilarious

At 6ft 3"/190cm, I could get in a series 2 (with roof off), but couldn't drive it realistically as legs were too cramped. With roof on, no chance. At a Lotus dealer, my head was above the roofline in a early Series 2. My friends at around 6ft/183cm just got in & could drive them with roof on, but needed breaks after a shortish time. There maybe a way of mounting seats lower, using the thinnest seats & moving pedal box to try & make it work, but unless you found someone who'd had that done, you'd have to pay/sort this yourself, & it still might not work. I gave up trying to see if I could fit.

I went for a Lotus Evora in the end, which is designed for up to 6' 5" (approx 196cm). Whilst this car is a lot heavier, & more GT like, it's still a sports car, with a lot more versatility. The SC version is quite a bit more expensive to run, & heavier again, although the extra torque makes it feel more like it looks, & the steering is still very responsive.

A 1990-2000 TVR may fit you as the owner then was around 6' 6"/198cm, but apart from a 2 seater sports car, it's a different type of car.

Ariel Atom or Nomad may suit?!

Maybe a Lotus owners club in your area, you could go to a meet, or search in their forums. Phone dealers to see if they have worked on cars with your height drivers?

Good hunting, hope something works out for you!

I’m 6ft 4 and no issues driving, getting in or out. It does help that I have a 280mm momo wheel which gives me more
Leg room.

I think 200 will be a squeeze

Here's 200cm / 150kg of me sat on my friend's Exige. Potentially would have fitted a bit better with wider seats but to answer the question. No not really. Drove another friend's s2 Elise and although I could drive it my eye level was the top of the A Pillar.

I am 6’6” and I managed to get in an Exige fairly easily but getting out was a challenge to say the least.

I ended up buying an Alpine and it’s a doddle to get in and out of. One of the development team was apparently 6’7” so they made sure he could fit in it.

Where are you op? I am always up for a laugh watching tall people getting in and out of a Lotus haha. My cousin is 6”6 he couldn’t get in the drivers seat of my Exige. He squeezed in as a passenger and didn’t enjoy the experience!

I was parked up in a car park a few years back and an Elise pulled up and the driver got out, we got chatting and he told me he was 6'7
