Hi all, does the Exige 410 (or any other similar V6 model) happen to have an interior fuse box and if so, where can it be found? I'm considering adding a subwoofer and using a tap-a-fuse for power - doing so would be much easier than trying to route a cable from the fuse boxes under the access panel or boot!

My stereo (a Joying Android unit) has a fuse on the back, so that might be as good a location as any, but I'd be much happier picking an appropriate fuse from a fuse box if possible.

Thanks!

There's no fuse box in the cabin, but people do tie in subwoofers behind the seats. I'm sure somebody will be along to tell you where's best to connect it up.,

I tapped my sub off the stereo power cable with an inline fuse added and located the sub in the passenger footwell. There is a thread on here with a pic and model info if any use: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

I also powered my sub by tapping off the supply to the head unit. Like the OP said, it's a bit of a pain running cables from the rear.

Now some people will say that you shouldn't do this (and I agree it's not best practice), but the head unit power cabling is protected by a fuse. If you were drawing too much current, the fuse would blow.

In reality, a headunit, 4 speakers and small sub does not draw huge amounts of current, regardless of the power claims made.

I decided to check this to be sure before installing my system and did a bench setup with a decent multimeter checking the current draw at high sound volumes with the sub turned up much more than it would be in the car. After that I was not concerned about the likelihood of blowing fuses or overheating the power cable.

Wot he said!

I shamelessly copied my head unit, front speaker and sub install from Paul's thread. I did choose my own rear speakers though.

I also copied Paul's 'rear master' camera install too and his front LED light upgrade.

I would also like to know which Christmas jumper Paul will be wearing this year. Don't be frightened smile

Bad news on the last point I'm afraid - I don't do Christmas jumpers!
