We are looking for a Standard, unmodified, Toyota Engined Elise to verify fitting of our new RSX height and damping rate adjustable suspension kit.
If you would like a brand new (and you will be the first to have one) kit, we will need your car for 1 week maximum.
We are fully ensured and we will only do a few miles in order to verify ride characteristics of the kit.
Call us on 01869 244771, quoting (Elise RSX)

Don't know about anyone else, but this struck me as a great scam to steal a motor?? The spelling is 'Insured' which doesn't bode well for a 'company' looking to borrow someone's car for a week. 'Only a few miles' to evaluate a new suspension kit seems pointless too. Don't give 'em your cars people!!

Except if you read the profile, you will see that its Spax you're dealing with, not exactly an unknown company in the automotive world.

You could deliver the car, ensure that correct paperwork was signed by both parties, etc to cover the loan agreement. You need to ensure you reatin ownership of the vehicle in all situations (including the borrowere going into receivership, etc). I'm sure Spax will have done this before and be able to provide you with suitable paperwork which your solicitor would comment on for a very nominal fee.

I'm sure in this case its not a scam, but I agree it could happen if you dealt with less established 'organisations'

So in only a few miles, Spax can improve on the settings Lotus test drivers have spent loads of miles honing on both road and test track????

PS - I am, sorry [cough, cough] WE are also fully 'ensured' to have a hoon in your car so PM me and I will put a good couple of hundred miles on your Elise/Exige. All in the name of testing the new Nitron ABCDE set up.

Just to put the record straight, we are a 50 year old company with a reputation that is not worth tarnishing. We have £10 million of product liability insurance that includes testing of cars worldwide.
For those who would like to know a little about serious design, development and testing of suspension, there are many stages between conception through design, rig testing (both destructive and non destructive), German TuV approval and testing, in house testing, final approval and launch. One of the many stages is dimensional testing that includes a few miles of road testing.
Quite frankly, if we want to thrash a car (wich we don't), we would do it in one of our own.
If NITRON is who I think he is, then please do not throw stones, as you may break some windows! If he is not, then we are sorry for the comment.

Probably not who you think it is.

No stone throwing intended - merely pointing out that it is easy to be mislead by the profile of an individual or organisation that has no previous history or posts to their name. There are many on here that trust a little too much and many others who are not as honest as they make out to be.

Not doubting that your intention with the original post is legitimate just needed to make the point - hope you get your car!

Nitron - good at hitting the nerve!

Could I request that companies seeking help from owners, contact the PH newsdesk in future and we'll help you seek the cars you need.

It can backfire posting directly on the forums as well as not quite being in the spirit of our no advertising rule.

Thanks,
Ted
