Folks

Been looking at an elise with some cracking to the door sill as the attached pictures.

Just wondering how big an issue this is and is it a relatively easy fix? Issue being I'm in Oz now and they are still pretty rare down here.

Never seen cracks there before, suspect other damage, maybe worth posting on SELOC

The fibreglass there is only about 3mm think. I don’t think it’s structural at that location and just seems to be a shroud to cover the roll over hoop. Could quite easily be caused by someone clobbering it getting in and out. If there is no other damage I wouldn’t worry about.

I assume it’s the one ending today on Collecting Cars. If so, it doesn’t look like a great example. They didn’t even clean it properly prior to the pictures being taken. The wheels are rough, brakes look pretty done and the paintwork isn’t too hot either.

Seen loads cracked there. Its thin, single skin fibreglass, and you have to flex it quite hard to remove/refit the rear trim panel.

They crack there all the time caused by people getting in and out of the car by pushing against the pillar to exit the car.
