Interesting insurance models....
Discussion
Been toying with an Elise for a long time, and I was doing my main car insurance renewal, so just thought I would have a look...
All fairly standard answers, normal job, low risk area, good driving record etc.
The cheapest was all from the same company.
Cost with 5yrs no claims £186.52 (on another policy I can use)
Cost with 0yrs no claims £170.82
Cost with 0yrs no claims and black box £170.83
Excess was £45 + £50 voluntary
To me, those numbers are completely backwards...?

Not only backwards but appear to have little correlation to each different scenario -they also seem “ cheap “.
Maybe they simply aren’t correct ?!
The one with 5 years NCB looks about right to me. I paid £173 this year with a similar excess. The other two do look rather implausible, though. Maybe they simply aren’t correct ?!

I would expect them to be cheap. I live in a low risk area, I am middle aged with a clean driving history and the Elise is a low power classic. Maybe they simply aren’t correct ?!
My MX5 always hit the minimum charge from the insurer and no claims didn't make a difference. (MX5 £160, 320d £200, 525d £230)
The Hastings observation is an interesting one. It may have been them.
