An everyday elise?
Discussion
I am looking to get an elise S2 for around £15-16K, but am a little wary as to how easy/tolerable/reliable it will be to use for long journeys.
I plan to have it as a second car, I'll use it mainly in the spring/summer, but would like to use it for least 50% of the time(about 10,000 miles/year).
Will I be knackered after driving 200+ miles in a day?
Also I dont have a garage and have heard that they leak is this true?

Have a good read through www.elises.co.uk/ and www.elise-faq.info/ which will start you off. Then search these forums for buying tips etc. and you'll find a wealth of stuff mate.
Basically you have 2 main versions of the car. The earlier, Series 1 model and the later Series 2. There are a myriad of variants which elises.co.uk will help you understand more about.
Best bet to start with is read up there, mooch about on here and then get driving some. Also find out where your local owners club(s) meet and go along and see if you can blag a ride in a couple.

P.S. welcome to the madhouse!

200 miles + will be no problem, unless you are doing 5 mile journeys and then getting in and out will be a bind.
Leaking, yes they do, but not a lot you will learn quickly that if the car is going to be stood in heavy rain, stick a chamois or towel in the relevant areas.
I have an S1, use it everyday all year round and don't have a garage. Car is parked in the street and has (touch wood) not been touched or fussed with.
Best thing is to drive a few, make sure you can get in and out easily and go for it, you won't look back.
BTW I am 6'2" and 15 stone (on a good day) and my first exit from an Elise was on all fours, don't be put off, there is a technique
