Exige 360 Cup - 7 years in
Discussion
Hi All,
I am lucky enough to have a few cars in the stable, some are easier to jump in and out of than others, and as a result can become less used than intended.
Having gained my 360 Cup as a factory order in 2015, it has been in hibernation a little, but after 18k miles the front tyres needed replacing so I have rustled it back into action.
Is there anything better than these cars for a drive ??? - At any speed it is an event, and when given the beans it still feels seriously quick, it is simply superb. I am embarrassed to say that I had forgotten what an utter gem it is.
Next out of the garage will be my Elise - 22 years since I bought it, the MOT records indicate that I really must use that more……..
I hope you are all enjoying your Lotus’ - there really is little else like them

Glad you are enjoying it still. I think you are right, nothing like a lotus! Have you got any pics? I did think about a cup myself. They are special!
Notice in your garage you have a GT4, what do you think of it? I didn’t like mine much and think the Exige blows it out of the water. Nice car/ well built/ nice engine and the dealer network was better. But overall I thought a bit boring as a weekend car

Yes, I will pop up some pics laterNotice in your garage you have a GT4, what do you think of it? I didn’t like mine much and think the Exige blows it out of the water. Nice car/ well built/ nice engine and the dealer network was better. But overall I thought a bit boring as a weekend car
I had exactly the same experience with my GT4, I found it a bit bland tbh!
I totally agree with your comments about build quality and Porsche dealership experience too.
Anyway, I should that a month ago ( thankfully not an expensive experience) and upgraded to an AM Vantage V12S which has bags of character, is surprisingly fast, and dealerships that know how to charge Porsche prices!
For me, I don't think there's much that can top it. From your own experience I think some of the popular alternatives that people seem to move on too are quite commonly found to not live up to the very high bar set by the Lotus.
I need to keep reminding myself this whenever I feel like dipping my feet into something Porsche shaped that the grass may not be greener.
Unfortunately it seems I'm the last person standing as the last 1st owner of the first V6 Cup model in the UK (2015 here)

Mine is 'only' a Sport 350, and I've only had it a couple of weeks, but I have to agree that it is a lovely thing.
The run back from B&C involved a 404 mile run - 6hr 20min on the first schelp with only a short petrol stop and no lunch (or loo stop(!)) as I was late for the ferry. The run along the A5 on the outskirts of Snowdonia in full afternoon sun was wonderful and some nice open traffic-free sections. No bottoming out to worry about either, which can't be said of the Sag.
I've also had so many positive comments and all the neighbours have been round wanting to be taken out in it. Complete strangers have tooted, waved, given the thumbs up etc. My wife loves it even though it is tricky to enter/exit and bright orange.
I figure it's time to enjoy cars of this type now before it is too late (i.e. not allowed to use them, or unable to get in/out )
Hopefully I'll still have this seven years later too like the OP
