Being the summer holidays an' all that jazz, some pesky kids with have thrown what looks like red nail polish on my wife's Accord.

How the hell do I get this stuff off? I'm assuming nail polish remover will damage the paint/lacquer as it is powerful stuff...?

Ooooh, it makes me mad...

P.S. At least it wasn't the Exige, I'd kill someone!

IRTA "I am a secret cross dresser and accidentally got some nail varnish on my car whilst trying to get in wearing my 6 inch stilletos and flashing my red G-String panties at the next door neighbour"

Have a go with Autoglym Intensive Tar remover (better be quick as it will be rather hard to get it off when its set). It seems to get off most cr@p and wont harm the paint.

Bob about to go out for a drive

Still give the Autoglym stuff a try. Some of the tar I have had on my car has been hard as nails but it has got it off.

I'd try scratching it off first, I doubt tar remover will shift it. Nail pollish remover should be ok on paintwork but don't take my word for it.

you are kidding! Try the nail polish remover first. If you are unhappy with the prospect of using the nail polish remover, try it on a small out of the way place first.

Try white spirit - I use it for big tar spots and it doesn't do any harm.

I use olive oil for the little ones which won't be much use in this situation!

It might chip off with your finger nail or something innocuous like a credit card.

How about a clay bar? May be too much for it though, probably worth a try before going to town on it with harsh chemicals or blades.

I have used nail polish remover on the pajero with no ill affects. Try it on a out of the way corner in a door jam or something. Paint lacquer on cars is "ard as nails". Nail polish remover isnt a strong solvent as it is to be used on human skin.

Nail polish remover is just acetone and will not harm the paint (unless it's had any respraying with celly).
